Promote Your Work With Tabletops & Tentacles!

In addition to being authors and artists ourselves, here at Tabletops & Tentacles, we are dedicated to promoting other creators in as many ways as we can. Whatever term you prefer; whether you are an artist, crafter, artisan, author, filmmaker, game designer, cosplayer or sculptor, we would love to boost your signal with T&T.

ARTISTS & CREATORS:

We have a number of ways you can be promoted through Tabletops & Tentacles! Whether it’s a short profile, an article on your project or a post on our Artist Alley Youtube channel, we would love to be involved in spreading the word about your creation. We do not charge for articles and involvement with the magazine - with the exception of promotions from our contributors, Tabletops & Tentacles is creator-powered and ad-free. Here’s some of the ways you can get your work involved here:

The Print & Digital Editions of Tabletops & Tentacles

The printed edition of T&T is usually best for general profiles or “evergreen” topics, rather than a specific release date like a Kickstarter, as the printing schedule and release dates for the magazine varies quite a bit currently.

  • Feature Article

    • Includes a full 6-10 page article, multiple images, an interview and profile as well as a number of online posts. We have a very limited space available for this option, as most of our featured articles are planned out 6 issues in advance currently. Our featured articles will rarely be posted to the website in a final format, keeping them as exclusive content for our subscribers, but teases and the podcast will feature them.

    • Typically this type of promotion will include a list of emailed questions as well as a recorded interview/discussion.

    • Interviews will be integrated with the written questions and presented in the magazine in final edited form. The recorded interview will typically also be released as a part of our accompanying podcast the same month as the issue’s release.

  • Spotlight Article

    • A 2-4 page spotlight on you and your product, either as a brief write-up or short interview in the magazine. These will usually also be cross-posted to the website feed.

  • The Artist Alley

    • In our print/digital editions of the magazine, we also feature 3-5 creators with a photo spread and short interview.

  • Print & Play Versions of Tabletop Games & RPGs

    • In addition to the print and digital copies, most issues of Tabletops & Tentacles includes a digital supplement for our Patreon backers. We would love to include a print and play version of your game, quick start rules for your RPG or sample adventure for your roleplaying supplement! Contact us with your ideas.

  • Reviews

    • Tabletops & Tentacles is a magazine covering games, RPGs, comics, film, literature and all points geek. We are always looking for new things to review, especially from indie creators. I currently have a mixed collection of reviewers with widely varying interests and expertises and we can find the perfect fit for your product. We would love to review your creation in our magazine - hit us up about any of the following:

      • Film screeners

      • Fiction novels

      • Non-fiction books

      • Roleplaying games

      • Tabletop games

      • Skirmish games

      • RPG supplements & accessories

      • Tabletop crafting, terrain building and painting supplies

      • New gaming tech like 3D printing

      • Comic books & trade paperbacks

      • Video games

      • Geeky experiences, oddities and toys

    • We do not charge for reviews and they will always be the reviewers’ honest, uncensored opinions. A physical copy of certain items, like tabletop games is preferred, but we are open to digital content of some items, like books, comics, RPGs and films. We also do not subscribe to a house style of review, preferring to let our various reviewers’ personality show through. If you prefer a specific reviewer for your product, we will do our best to accommodate.

    • Most reviews will appear in some format in the print and website versions of Tabletops & Tentacles and may also be discussed on the podcast or in video form on one of our Youtube channels as well as promoted across our social media accounts.

We are also always looking for reviewers, content creators, columnists and authors to contribute to the magazine. If you are interested in writing for Tabletops & Tentacles, GO HERE!

The Tabletops & Tentacles Website

Our most versatile option, we can usually get an article up on the website within a day or two so this is especially great if you have something to promote that is live now or needs a more timely profile than something on a print schedule. This is primarily suited for news items, Kickstarter previews, etc but we are also open to interviews and previews as well. We also promote all of our Youtube videos on the website.

Our Youtube Channels

We have three Youtube channels and depending on what you are promoting, they may be a great option too. This is our newest venture and we are just starting to build an audience, but Youtube seems to be a valuable tool for finding people. It has proven more effective than most social media and the videos have a much, much longer shelf life than posts on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. We are quite excited about expanding the Youtube channels.

  • The Tabletops & Tentacles Channel

    • This channel is best suited for reviews of Tabletop Games and RPGs. We are also open to doing previews of upcoming Kickstarters on this page and full playthroughs of final games. This channel focuses on Tabletop Gaming, RPGs, Tabletop Terrain and Miniatures. Find it HERE.

    • REVIEWS of Tabletop Games, RPGs, Supplements and Accessories:

      • Reviews are always free, but we do request a donated copy of the game or product for our library and to use in the review.

      • Reviews will appear in the Reviews department of the magazine in print and digital issues. They will also be mentioned on the podcast, have a video made, and likely be included in social media promotions.

      • Reviews will always be uncensored opinion of the game/product and will be our honest take. We make every effort to play the game multiple times, with different players and situations to give a thorough review of it.

      • Because of our road schedule and the amount of time we put into playing the game beforehand, I cannot promise which issue your review will appear in, but contact us and we can discuss logistics.

      • We are especially interested in playing indie RPGs, reviewing tabletop and RPG accessories, shorter filler games, card games, solo and 2-player games, and games that are rich in theme. Currently our primary game group enjoys a mix of lighter games, adventure and Ameritrash but we play all kinds.

    • TABLETOP GAME & RPG KICKSTARTER PREVIEW VIDEOS:

      • With this type of promotion we record a preview video for our YouTube channel showcasing your product and describing its features. We will also highlight it on a podcast episode and post an article on the blog.

      • We do not charge for Kickstarter Preview Videos. However, we do request a copy of the final product for our library and review purposes after it is successfully funded.

      • We require a physical form of the product for the Preview Video. That can be a prototype in some level of completion. We are always happy to send back or forward any prototypes after the preview video is filmed. (We are located in Idaho, in the US)

      • Preview videos will not be reviews of the game and we do a light rules rundown, not a full how-to-play. Be warned that we are passionate about games, design and theme so some of our personal opinions may slip into the videos. (These are almost always enthusiastic) We attend/sell at conventions across the US full time as Deeply Dapper so our availability for Preview Videos is limited - the more flexibility on timeframe you have, the more likely it is that we will be able to do a video for you.

  • The Midnight Cryptid Channel

    • This channel is just getting started and is focused on creatures, mysteries, crime and the unknown. Though it’s unlikely to suit most people for promotion, if you are creating a book, game, comic or film with unique monsters, I’d love to work up a collaboration with you for Midnight Cryptid. Find it HERE.

  • Deeply Dapper’s Artist Alley

    • The best option for most creators - The Artist Alley will feature videos from a variety of creators in all genres and mediums - We are aiming to recreate the vibe of walking down an actual artist alley with the channel. For The Artist Alley, each video will be provided by the artist themselves. We will add a short bumper intro to the video introducing it. We will have links in the description to your work and social media, Patreon, etc. If you utilize affiliate links at all, you are also more than welcome to include any of those in the video description too. Once the channel is rolling and we have enough subscribers/views to be monetized, contributors will get 75% of all monetization and can be involved in choosing the level of ad intrusion on their video. We are open to any type of creative endeavor here as long as it is something YOU created. That includes artists, authors, crafters, sculptors, authors, designers, cosplayers, photographers, content creators, podcasters, filmmakers, etc - if you can make a video showing off what you do or talking about HOW you do it, you’d be a great fit for the channel. [All videos should not feature copyrighted material such as music and be in the realm of PG-13] The Artist Alley can be found HERE and will be featuring the following types of videos:

      • Tutorials & How-To Videos: Whether you are showing people how you draw a full piece, focusing on a specific technique or just talking about your technique and inspiration, we would love to feature your work here.

      • Timelapse & Streaming Videos: Generally these videos show you creating something with a music backdrop or minimal talking.

      • Discussions & Interviews: If you have video of a panel you did or a discussion about your work, that would fit here too - Essentially if it is something you could find at a comic con - in the Artist Alley or as a panel, it will fit here too.

      • Virtual Booth Walkthroughs: If you normally sold or appeared at conventions and miss that “Con” experience, set up your booth at home and give us a video tour!

      • Gameplay, Design or How To Play Videos: If you are a game designer and have a video of your creation, whether it’s a how-to-play or overview, that would be a great fit here too. We’d also like to showcase discussions about the design process.

      • Skype Profiles: If you are a creator and don’t have any pre-filmed content but would like to be involved, hit me up and we can do a skype/zoom video interview where we can discuss your process and creations.

      • Anything else! If you have an idea for a video that would fit - live plays, geek-themed ASMR, RPG One-Shots, short films, animations or something creative you’d like to share, hit me up - I am always open to creative alternatives.
