New Mutants Still Staggering To Theaters?

Much to my surprise, it seems the new Mutants are still trying REALLY HARD to go to theaters this August 28th. Tickets for the long-delayed Marvel movie are on sale for select Cinemark and Dolby cinemas and they’ve debuted a couple of new posters to go along with the release of ticket sales.

I have been excited about the idea of this movie since they debuted the first trailer way back in 2017 but it’s honestly reached the point now that I’m content just waiting a bit longer and seeing it at home on VOD or streaming. They’ve pushed it back so often and struggled to keep things fresh for so long that a lot of the enthusiasm fans had has mutated into ambivalence. This feels like an effort to “Get it into theaters” come hell or high water just so they can say it still went to theaters before it slinks off to streaming. But if you fancy hanging out in a theater with people quietly distancing in butter-stained masks and teens that think that because they took off their masks, they can also be loud jerks… be my guest.
